The Second Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting held in EWTI

Ethiopian Water Technology Institute (EWTI) and Japan International cooperation Agency (JICA) Joint coordination committee (JCC) have discussed about various issues which strengthen the bilateral relation focus on Technical and material supports. The discussion was targeting evaluating both sides undertaking activities which strengthen the trainings given by EWTI.  Different issues regarding the performances of EWTI and JICA were raised.

The discussion issues include:-

  • The Baseline Survey Of The Status Of EWTI
  • Technical Gap Finding Survey Conducted By JICA
  • Results Of The Joint Monitoring Results
  • Promotional activities produced in coordination (newsletters, table calendar, etc)

All the above and related issues were discussed by the members in details.

According to reports during the Joint coordination committee meeting, the following achievements (outputs) are gained by JICA’s activates after the first JCC meeting:-

  1. Training management structure of EWTI is strengthened through PDCA cycle;
  2. Training capacity of EWTI’s trainers is enhanced through pilot training courses;
  3. Implementation structure of Internal Training for EWTI’s trainers is established;

Finally, the committee has highlighted the next steps to be done in modernizing the training delivered by EWT to water sector.
